    Shipping cards

    Hey guys/gals,

    I was curious to see how everyone here ships their cards that they sell to the US and Canada. Is there a good way of doing it? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    If shipping in the US , id recomend shipping with delivery confirmation. Which is only 50 cents more. Not sure of the exact price, but somewhere around there. If shipping to other countrys you dont have much protection selling lower end items. If selling high end items out of country id go with registered mail. It will be around 15 dollars, but will protect your high end items. Shipping from the US to Canada, or the other way around may take up to 3 weeks. Some buyers get mad that it takes that long, but the items have to go through customs. Some buyers jump the gun after 2 weeks and will file a claim. Best bet international is using registered mail for sales, it comes with tracking ect.

    Well I collect mid to high end cards. Right now I have cards in the 25-75 dollar range and wouldn't mind selling a few so I can upgrade a bit. What would we be looking at for costs for the standard shipping? 2-3 bucks? And what would be the best way of getting supplies? Thanks for the replies by the way!

    try the dollar store for bubble envelopes, usually get 4 for a $1 and of course recycle your old ones.

    1 very important tip I can give is to make sure your bubble doesn't get too thick, when it gets 1 inch thick then it just became a box and triples in cost.
    Go flater and bigger deminsions, go from a 4 x 6 to a 8 x 10 to keep in thin

    Yeah pretty good info. So would I just ship as paper products or photos? Is it a lot more for delivery confimation? And what does it usually cost one of you guys to ship? For example, what would shipping on a $50 card cost?

    I always ship the following way: penny sleeve, top loader, cardboard dummy card on either side, team bag, bubble mailer.
    Dollar store bubble mailer at 3-4 for $1 and then if I am only shipping a couple cards I cut the mailer in half and use each half for a transaction.

    You can get a nice box of bubblemailers for even cheaper than 4 for $1 if you do it right. I got a box of 250 for something like $27. Toploaders and team bags are rather cheap if you buy enough for what you have, since most people ship in them anyway, you won't have to buy too many more (until you get more cards out of packs/boxes/lots).

    I don't do DC for anything under $20, but over it, I wouldn't risk it.

    Re-Use incoming bubble mailers. Either clean them (if taped), or tape a TO: & FROM: address label over any previous markings. This will save you a lot, and you can pass the savings on.

    Thanks for all of the help! So say I wanted to sell a $50 card. I use all of the materials mentioned. What type of shipping would I use and how much would it run me? Just put it as a letter and pay the basic shipping charge? I guess this is the main thing that I'm not understanding, trying to figure out the total cost of a transaction.
