Parents grew up right in Philly, moved out of town before I was born but they're Flyers fans, so guess who else is. This guy.

For me my dad is a Leafs fan so but when I was 2 we moved to Vancouver and my dad became a Canucks fan 1st and Leafs 2nd. For me it is Leafs 1st and Canucks 2nd. Surprised most people cheer for a team with no family connection.

My dad would have been about 7 when the Canucks came into the league. His parents had season tickets, so he got to go to all the "scrub" games (California Golden Seals, etc) and has been a Canucks fan since. His father grew up as a Habs fan, but loved the Canucks, whether he would admit it or not. My grandmother still watches every game.
Basically, if I weren't a Canucks fan, I'd be out of the will, but I'm okay with that.

When my Brother-in-law was playing pro hockey in the AHL, ECHL and CHL, I would alway follow his teams (even the pro affiliate when he was in the Pens system @ Wheeling, WV).

Since he's retired, I'm 110% back as a Sabre fan.... was 100% when he played.

No family connection. Grew up in Vegas and have always rooted for the Kings.

I grew up with my dad as a Maple Leafs fan, and I originally was a Flyers fan (was a big Lindros fan back then), and then I for some reason switched over to Ottawa. Since then my older brothers have both become Senators fans as well, and now my dad is alone (aside from my fiance) as a Leafs fan

In my more rebellious years I became a Sens fan (because of Tugnutt) just to be able to root for a different team (my only family members who are not Canucks fans are my uncle who's been an Avalanche fan since the Quebec days and his son who is basically a fan of whoever won the Cup last). I also started cheering the Hamilton Tiger-Cats over the BC Lions and the Saints over the Seahawks. Ottawa, Hamilton and New Orleans are now my "second" teams. I'm happy whenever they win EXCEPT against the Canucks, Lions and Seahawks.
