If you got $60 Bucks for that card damaged, you should be happy. Real collectors don't keep damaged cards unless they are 1911 Topps C55

A collector when spending good dollars will want a near-mint-mint card at minimum for recent card. I collect carey price and when I spent my money, I don't want a damage card. If I pull one and it's a big hit I will keep it but not buy one.
Then, for collector with a wallet that would not let him afford a nice patch sign card, then that collector might want to spend some money. But those who did invest money in such card and then want to sell it for what ever reason, it very hard to sell. I have a great four color patch and even tried ridiculous price and no one wanted to pay. If I am to give it away, then I just keep it and place it in PC so I don't get anymore demand.
But this card is Roy and Bourque and can understand a collector probably unique change to get a Roy auto. I mean any auto is 100$ + minimum from Roy, maybe some still figure that they can maybe have a value in there.
But take any other player that does not fetch interest like these tow guys and no one will pay for it.
So it's not because a collector has deep pocket and can afford to pay the full price that other collector can't buy a damage card at much lower price. For Instance I collect PC and never sell them so if that card would make my day, why not. If I would buy it for resell value, maybe it's the equivalent of putting a finger in your eye. So definitely not a investment but for collector that can't afford one, why not.
