...so offer me cards I want in description... and I will use the same approach to value them as I did it for my card... add let you know about my interest in trade...
why you all "trade value fans" dont understand that concept of trade based on imaginery trade value is useless for rare cards as there in no common approach to definition and callibration of valuation...
100$ of my trade value could be 500$ in others -> that is why I dont use "trade value" in my trades... how you are able to assess trade value of rare cards, if there is no official pricing (due to scarcity)... there was no ebay transaction history (or is fake) -> there is no benchmark...
The value of those cards for collectors is subjective, based on their preferences on teams, sports, players, products etc...
Term "trade value" is probably good for people interested in making fast money on cards... but this is not my world...
I feel that there are some people that are fixed on "trade value" and are not able to make any offer without it... OK I can accept it, but dont waste my time as will respond only on particular cards trade proposals...

The term trade value is used to avoid pointless negotiations.
Let's say, hypothetically, we opened trade talks.
These two, probably among the nicest non-Exquisites you'll find of these players, would have been included among the cards I put on the table.

So you tell me "I like A, and B, and C... etc.," to which I reply "so what do you want to do?" Then your reply comes back asking for a package X which may or may not be much higher than I'm willing to give up. You say you're looking for certain cards, and that the value depends on the quality. Sure, that's fine. But, you're not going to move the triple for a card that's only worth $100 if you can get a card that's worth $300. I'm a pure collector as well, but that doesn't mean I'm dumb. Nor, I would think, are you. The fact of the matter is that there IS a general value range, whether in terms of BV or SV, that you would need in order to trade the card.
The people who are looking to make a quick buck are the ones that through lowball proposals against the wall waiting for one to stick. If it doesn't stick, they move on to the next thread. The people who want a value are those looking for straightforward negotiations. If your reply to that initial conversation had been a package much higher than I was interested in giving up, we both just wasted time and effort that could have been spent elsewhere.
If you just wanted to "play it by eye," I'd be fine with that. But given that you DO have the card on eBay, there is obviously a number at which you would accept an offer, and obviously a number below which you will decline that offer. If I offered you $125 on eBay right now for it, you would decline. Even though you could use that $125 to go out and buy the EXACT $125 card you claim you would trade for. But you wouldn't do that, because, as I said before, you're not stupid.

MrA, kencope, Imac -> PM sent to all of you guys...
bdrr - I'm taking your point, and from described perspective I can agree that this could be generally speaking reasonable approach... but im my opinion, with limited use to rare cards...
In my case I prefer "play it by eye", as I'm looking for particular rare cards (ebay pricing, BV or any other is not the most important for me when I find card I realy like for my PC...)
PS. sorry for my first reaction, as after your question about value I incorrectly identified you as pottencial "lowball proposals"... now I'm wiser and know what is the motive behind your Q...
PM also sent...
