go to start -> run (or hit the windows key which has the flag on it and r at the same time if it's not xp) put in this in the run box:
c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc
hit ok
a window should open and it'll probably have 5 files
one will just be called hosts
double click on it
when windows asks what program to open it with chose notepad
copy and paste what it says

Thanks Bauldie, but it's still a no go on the ebay thing.
I wonder how many Staal's I have missed in the past day and a half?

That host file entry shouldn't have been there which is why I mentioned a virus issue. It's a common thing viruses do to affect your browsing/redirect you. While you may not have an active virus running, it's possible there are pieces of one left behind that are causing small issues. That's basically my job and I see it all the time.
One thing I didn't mention in my last pm was a firewall/antivirus causing the issue as well.

Won't hurt anything for a little bit to test.. that stuff gets so overblown. As long as your computer is up to date with windows updates you'd be fine.
