Couple 2011 Bowman DP&P Rack Packs...
I saw the new Bowman Draft Picks & Prospects rack packs at Meijer today and decided to grab a couple, just to test the waters...planning on grabbing either a box of this or another Chrome box on Friday, wanted to see which I liked better. Here's the notables:
Goldschmidt, Trout Rookies
Dany Toussaint USA (he's 15...that's a little weird)
Handful of Base Prospects (Nicholas Delmonico was the only name I knew)
Chrome Prospects of Josh Parr, Nick Ahmed, and Tyler Anderson
Trevor Story Gold Prospect
Adam Wilk Rookie Refractor
and my big PC Hit:
Jason Kipnis Gold Parallel!
I'm well aware that I'm probably the only person here that would get excited about pulling a Jason Kipnis parallel, but he's my favorite player. Loved watching him this season in Columbus (and Cleveland) and got to meet him a few times, so I was pretty psyched to pull this! The Wilk made me pretty happy to, since I wanted to pick up a few of his cards for my Minor League collection (guys that I liked watching/got to meet). Not too bad; I'm happy with my Kip and Wilk...but I don't like the black parallels and I"m just not a huge fan of this as compared to Bowman Chrome...thanks for reading!

I believe the hobby boxes have black bordered prospects as well instead of sticking with white bordered cards. I wonder why they dd that for the Bowman Draft...maybe to set it apart from the other Bowman products from this year???? BTW, I have a Cognac parallel of Kipnis' 2011 Topps Update if you need it. I'd just be looking for a similarly valued Arod or Cardinal I don't have. Congrats on picking up some PC cards.

That's a bummer; I think I'll be going with another box of Chrome if that's the case. I can definitely use the Kipnis; just let me see what Cards I can find for you!

They showed a box break of hobby Bowman Draft on beckett.com and all the base prospect cards had black borders. However, the chrome versions were the same format with white borders like those in Bowman and Bowman Chrome. For the Kipnis, just lmk what Arods and Cardinals you have for trade.

Yeah, that's how it looks like they all are...darn. I can't decide which box to pick up on Black Friday (Chrome or DPP). I like the Chrome base, inserts, and whatnot better (and for some reason, I love the way Harper's auto looks in that set). But DPP has the more Indian-friendly checklist (Carrera, Judy, Lindor, Kipnis, Chisenhall, etc.). Which would you choose?

I like the Bowman Chrome inserts, but haven't had a chance to buy any draft yet. Seems like Draft is loaded more with younger draft picks and USA players who haven't had cards made of them yet. One of the USA team players is actually only 15 yrs old and now has his own card.

Dany Toussaint?
I thought that was kind of weird, myself. The kid isn't old enough to drive, but has people investing money in his cards...I'm torn, haha.
If I can't decide, I'm going to end up buying Certified football.

Yeah, that's the kid...Toussaint. That was mentioned in the video box break. I looked at my son and had to rub it in that this kid who's just one year older than him already had his own baseball card.

Haha, the kid's two years younger than me and is on a baseball card! Makes me feel like a failure...
Pretty cool for him, though. I couldn't imagine having a card at 15.
