Certified = Disappointment
Bought some last year, still have outstanding redemptions from Nov 2010.
This years cards do not look worthy of the $100+ tag on it and most of the boxes seem to be hugely disappointing.
Compared to SPA the set looks cheap.

Im probably in the minority, but 2 of my 3 boxes had 5 or 6 hits, 1 /5, 1 /10, 2 /25, 2 AU RC JSY /499, for a total of 6 Autos and 8 GU total out of 3 boxes, neither of which was a hot box. Coalation is TERRIBLE again though, I believe I have 3-4 of some players out of 3 boxes!

Their redemption program from last year is coming back to bite them on this product. Collation looks awful again. Nobody seems to be opening it. Price drop soon.

The redemptions are exactly why I haven't touched it. In and around $100 / box last year, and I've still got 5 or 6 boxes with Freshman Fabric Signature hits that I havent seen yet. Its just kind of a shaft that the product wasn't really complete and we put our money into it with the expectation that they would have those cards dealt with. Up until a month or two (roughly) ago customer service couldn't even tell me if they were going to be made or not.
I just can't justify giving them more money when my year-old boxes haven't been dealt with yet kinda thing.

THIS. I have noticed very minimal breaks on the board. I spoke to my LCS owner and he said last year he went through 2 cases in the first week...this year only three boxes out of a case have been purchased.

I'm not so sure about Certified either. I was surprised with the number of redemptions I have seen so far, for what will likely be sticker autos. I would have thought after last year, they would have tried to minimize the redemptions before they release it.

The silver lining to the thread title - something can only be a disappointment if it comes with great expectations.
While the redemptions from last year were a grievous error, they're not in the product this year. It *shouldn't* have much bearing outside of the usual "I'll never buy Panini again" sentiment that these things can sometimes engender.
That said, there are a lot of those hideous white cards in this year's release. Every Carey Price autograph is a redemption. PK Subban is a redemption for his autos. While we Habs fans know that both players are good signers and the cards will get done, when the big hit for your PC is a decoy with a sticker on it promising an auto in the future it does limit the extent to which you want to purchase the product.
I've been a big fan of Panini since they came on board, but I can certainly understand why some people are getting increasingly frustrated with the way things are getting done--or in several cases, not done.
It's a good-looking product, absolutely, but I think many are leery of redemptions and fearful of not getting full value for their breaks.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

I am very bummed my big pulls was a redemption (Ryan Miller) as is the 2 of the 3 others Ive seen, only Kesler is live. This is one of the first seemingly new idea in cards for in a while and its seems they dropped the ball again. Id love to wait for mine to be live but with the Panini redemption horror stories, is it really worth it?!?

cards are terrible I compare these to pro set in the 90's...flooding the market with crap......25 bobby ryan cards in one set (plus 4 1/1's) is ridiculous
Wayne Gretzky PC 1671 cards
Wade Boggs PC 411 cards
Tony Gwynn PC 195 cards
