I read this after checking my email & it's Medicaid. It really is terrible that the government wants to cut programs that endangers the welfare of their own people & citizens.

Correlation does not imply causation. The headline is ridiculous, and the conclusion is irresponsible.

I agree, how do they come to that conclusion?

I read the entire article. Saw nothing that correlates suicides and welfare cutbacks.
People have to drive 160 miles for mental health care? Oh the horror! My dad drives that amount all the time to go to the VA hospital. Never stopped him. If people would rather kill themselves than drive for 2.5 hours to get help, then so be it.

Yep Veterans here where I live have to drive 4 hours to San Antonio for a full service VA for appointments, which I think is ridiculous for the people who fought to protect our freedoms & liberties let alone the other _____ overseas that we protect & try to bring democracy to!!Last edited by texansrangerfan73; 12-05-2011 at 01:27 PM. I love this forum. I bet the government says the same thing about it's mentally sick soldiers, just like people are talking in here about other Americans (especially mentally sick ones). God Bless America!

I welcome anyone to watch a show called Trapped: Mental Illness in America's Prison's. So people can get a general idea of would could happen if people who are poor or with mental illness's don't help they need. If you would like to watch the movie it's on Youtube.

while i don't like that people have to drive that far, we can't pretend there is an easy fix and no one is taking it. Would anyone be ok with the government building 100's of hospitals just so no one has to drive more than an hour?
