how much does grading boost value?
I am curious how much grading a card boosts the value of it. Can anyone enlighten me on maybe the 10, 9.5, 9, 8.5, and 8 increase of percentage value of a card. (if that's confusing, I mean if it is a 10 is it worth 50% more, 9.5 40% more....ect)

To tell you the truth its extremely different with Most cards...Especially with Modern and Vintage...
Raw MJ rookie would go for around $300 but a Graded 8 would go for $800 and a 9 for $1500-2000. So those are HUGE bumps in price.
Raw Durant topps chrome rookie would go for $20-30. A Graded 9 would bring around $35. and a 9.5 for only $60-65. So thats not a huge different.
It also depends on the set. For example National Treasures, Exquisite and all the other Condition Sensitive sets would go for more than stuff that has easily graded stuff like Topps Chrome etc...
So there is no set percentage really you can give depending on the grade because there are tons of different variables that goes into it.
But for a modern card i would say this
Graded
8 (lower than a raw by 25%)
8.5 (lower than a raw by 10% or same as raw)
9 (Higher than a raw by 10%-20%)
9.5 (Higher than a raw by 40%-75%) but still can vary depending on what it is...

Yeah I bought a some Alonzo Mourning rookie cards off ebay as well has having a Derrick Rose rookie that I got in a pack from target. I'm no grading expert but the cards looked like they were in prety decent shape. However when I sent them in for grading and paid $13 for their "free" promo the sent the cards back graded 4.5. That was the first and the last time that I will be using Beckett grading.Drug and smoke free trading.

Just remember when you send something in. Be as nit picky when you want to send it in. If it has ANY flaws i mean ANY then it will downgrade it. If it has a tiny white it will downgrade it, the centering off a little, etc.
