Goaltender Snow Shower

Stars were issued an Unsportsmanlike Penalty tonight for showering Bobs with a little of the white stuff.

The league has gone to Lace Underwear in a han™™™™. Words fail me. The very first thing that you are taught in Canada as a kid after you can skate able enough, is giving the opposing goalie some snow. It's as much a part of Hockey as a wrist-shot.

I agree 100% with the penalty there is nothing more disrespectful to do to a goalie. There is no reason for a player to do it. And the player does it in "hopes" of getting a goalie off his game so it is intentional, as is a trip, slash, hook hold etc.

Respect is earned. Disrespectful? Not a chance. It's part of the game and always has been.

What do you mean by respect? A player has NO reason to snow a goalie if you can provide a list of reasons how it benefits the product that is hockey I would consider your point. How is it a part of the game is it a strategy like the 1-2-2? Is it a break out? No usually it occurs when a goalie is playing lights out and a team is looking to throw him off his game. Iam interested to see how you show that it is a "part" of the game... while your doing that ill be reading the UNWRITTEN RULE BOOK

As a goalie, I hate being showered with snow. I don't particularly like getting ice in my mouth. I don't even want to know what's in it. There's no reason to do it. This sort of activity should be considered unsportsmanlike conduct. Want to get in a goalie's head? Score a goal.
