Thinking about a new player PC...

I'm at the point where, aside from 1/1s, I've pretty much completed my Prosser collection to this point in time. I'm starting to look at some of the up and coming players in the NHL and within the Wild's system to see if I might like collecting them. I think the Wild has a lot of great prospects in Mikael Granlund, Charlie Coyle, Jonas Brodin, Zack Phillips, Brett Bulmer, Johan Larsson, Jason Zucker, Mario Lucia, Matt Hackett, Johan Gustafsson and Darcy Kuemper. Bulmer's cards have already made an appearance this year and Granlund's will most likely come out next season as he's pretty much a lock for the roster next year.

I've got a strong feeling that a few of these Wild rookies will be in as popular of demand as Oilers rookies have been the past few years. Granlund will especially be in demand and therefor difficult and expensive to collect. I also am thinking of players such as RNH, Jeff Skinner and Tim Thomas.

One guy I think may slip under the radar of some collectors (well...most Wild rookies slip under the radar of most collectors ) is Zack Phillips. Taken 28th overall by the Wild in 2011, Zack is playing on the top line for the Saint John Sea Dogs of the QMJHL with 2011 3rd overall pick Jonathan Huberdeau and fellow Wild prospect and 2010 1st rounder, Charlie Coyle. Phillips leads the Sea Dogs with 65 points (26 goals, 39 assists) in 44 games. He's a good player with great hockey sense, the only main knock I've heard is that he needs to work on his skating and it sounds like this is why he fell to 28th in the 2011 draft.

However, Phillips knows how to put the puck in the net and makes everyone around him better and has shown good chemistry with Coyle, hopefully his future linemate in Minny. The Sea Dogs coach Garard Gallant has compared him to Adam Oates. I don't know if he'll be a top line player, but I'd say easily in the top 6. One thing I'm excited about is that Zack showed really good chemistry with Granlund and Larsson in prospect camp scrimmages last summer. I've also semi-started a collection of him over the past year with an auto'd Wild puck, H&P auto, H&P Subway Series GU and a few auto'd photos.

Huh...maybe I just answered my own questions. What do y'all think? Out of this bunch, who would you collect? Thanks!

After seeing some of Granlund's highlights, you would think that hes going to be highly collectable.

But since you already got some phillips stuff already might as well collect him

Yeah, I think I pretty much answered my own question. Always collecting Wild rookies, but I think I'll expand the Phillips aspect of it when he makes it to the NHL. Still going to gather and hold as many valuable rookies as I can. Not that I want to sell them, but it's nice to have the value there if I ever need the cash. I guess you could call that PC the RNH/Valuable Oilers rookies/Jeff Skinner/Valuable rookies in general collection. lol
