Itg?
What's the deal, why doesn't this stuff sell and why isn't the value there? The cards look nice, and there is some pretty nice stuff.

The cards arn't licenced by the NHL or NHLPA and people shy away from them, ITG has some very nice cards though, my favorite are the Heroes and Prospects.

No license is the primary reason as collectors shy away from it, also alot of people hate on their card design, which is impacted by the fact that they have no license because they cant use team logos if I am not mistaken. Personally speaking I have a few Itg cards but for some reason when it comes to trading or buying I pass, not sure why though lol

As others have said - no license has hurt the re-sale value of their cards since 05-06 (the first year they were without one). The lack of logos turns some people off.
Personally, I like quite a few of their products (really looking forward to Between The Pipes again this year!) and I know I have seen some of their cards sell very well.... but not all of them, all the time.

Another possible reason that it may not sell well is because lots of "newer" collectors have been assimilated into the "Rookie" phase. I personally dont have much ITG but I do love how they have jerseys, sticks ETC of the older generation players!

Perhaps another stupid question, but why did they lose there license? My friend is a big collector of ITG, and seeing some of the stuff he's pulled has intrigued me.. but there is a large cost for such little return.

I love the ITG stuff - patches, jerseys, autos...two color, seams, etc...I would rather take my chances on a box of ITG then UD...but ITG will have more legends/prospects because of the logo/licence issues than UD. The pictures they can use is strictly limitted too. If you are into Rookies, UD is the way to go...or Panini for that matter.

yeah itg really need to get nhl license, that is what is keeping the popularity and resell value back which is a damn shame considering how insane good cards they produce they really are undervauled on todays market.

It's like anything in any industry - there are things that many people like that many others do not. You can't please all of the people all of the time, but those folks that ITG does please, they please very very well.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...
