New Collector- Question about Where to Buy Boxes

Hey guys. I am just starting out collecting. This hobby is extremely addictive. I am a broke college student, but I still find myself purchasing a box per week. So far, I've tried Black Diamond, Panini Certified, and Pinnacle. My best pull was from Black Diamond. A Gilbert Perreault double two color jersey auto #ed 3/5.

Now related to my question. I've been to two different card shops and bought boxes, but then I looked online at sites like dacardworld.com and dcssportscards.com and the prices for the boxes were actually cheaper at these two sites than my card stores prices. Does anyone order from these sites? Should I just order online from now on, or do you think I should ask my card shops if they will match online prices?

    Welcome to SCF!
One very reputable website for you (and an SCF Affiliate, no less!) to check out is http://www.cardsbythebox.com - the owner is SCF's very own Enigma. Great place to buy from and will hook you up.

You can also check out the two sites you mentioned. If you are looking primarily for Upper Deck products, ensure that you make your purchase from an UD Authorized Internet Retailer in case you have any issues with quality control, redemptions, damaged cards, etc.

If you have any other questions don't hesitate to ask! You've come to the right place!

I only order from DACARD and DCS. I really like them and they ship quick. I have 2 boxes of series 2 pre-ordered from them and I'd buy another box of artifacts if the price didn't jump 33% on DA.

thanks for the welcome and the advice! It looks like I may just order my boxes online, as the prices seem cheaper than the local card shops here.

Got it in my first box a few weeks ago. Ever since then I've been hooked.

DCS is actually about 30 minutes away from me. I got there every month and get a box, the owner is very nice. I also use DA.
