Is there any math experts here ?
I'm trying to help my son (5th grader) with his math test review. We have a problem here that I can't for the life of me figure out. You are supposed to insert parentheses when necessary to make the number sentence true. I think I've tried every combination with no luck.
-8(squared)-(-9)+(-10)x8=88
Can anyone help me please ?

-{8(squared)}-{{(-9)+(-10)}x8}=88
This?
You put parentheses around the 8^2 to get 64 then the negative makes it -64.
You have the minus so -64 -.
You put parentheses around the negatives to add them together to get -19.
Then you multiple the -19 by 8 to get -152 on the other side.
-64- (-152) would = 88Selling all my cards here updated as of May------------> Hidden Content

My 35th was last year. And I used to love math but just don't use as much plus I probably forget more than I learned.
