NFL Training Camp successes

I haven't been in two years, but I used to get some good autos at Giants training camp in Albany.

My favorite to get was always Brandon Jacobs, because he'd be very personable and chipper. Truly loves what he does.


One day I got Eli Manning and Tiki Barber on the same football.



We got Chris Snee, Antonio Pierce and Osi Umenyiora (among some other less big names) hanging out over an hour after practice at the exit of the locker room.

Chase Blackburn signed for EVERYONE his rookie season, while carryin Carlos Emmons and Antonio Pierce's pads, which also forced him to keep his helmet on during this.

Justin Tuck is a big deal now, but he was not all that hyped his rookie season up until Strahan retired and he really beecame the full-time starter. Everyone forgets he was a 3rd round draft pick. With Osi and Strahan on roster, he wasn't even sought out. My brother and I got him though.


The coaches are usually the best about autos at camp. It took us three years to get Coughlin, however.

We thought we had him our first year...we saw an older couch with the same stature headed out of the lockerroom and literally chased him down, however, it turned out to be defensive line coach Mike Waufle. Really nice guy, we also met him the year Strahan was holding out. We asked him about it and he said "I don't know, I'm textin him everyday!"



We also met and got Kevin Gilbride, Pat Flaherty (oline coach) and Mike Pope (tight end coach)'s autographs.

Worst experiences were watching Amani Toomer, Jeremy Shockey and Plaxico Burress NEVER sign. Rich Seubert turned me down when we saw him in the parking lot. Frank Walker asked me to walk with him, and then signed for everyone but me (I'm the one in the Sehorn jersey below, lol).


Other somewhat notables are Barry Coefield, Jay Feely, Will Demps, Jared Lorenzen, Kevin Boss, James Butler, Sam Madison, Kareem McKenzie, and Gibril Wilson.

Really hope I can get to both the Giants AND jets this year armed with some cards and 8x10's, not just footballs. My brother and dad usually both go with me.


I'M INTERESTED TO HEAR WHAT OTHER CAMPS ARE LIKE. I WOULDN'T MIND TRAVELING TO OTHERS THAT AREN'T TOO FAR FROM NEW YORK FOR A FEW DAYS THIS SUMMER.

I dont have any pictures, but I went to Patriots training camp quite a bit over the summer. I believe I got close to a total of 100 autographs. My highlights were Tom Brady(3 times), Wes Welker, Chad Ochocinco, Shaun Ellis, BenJarvus Green-Ellis, Devin McCourty, Brandon Meriweather, and Aaron Hernandez.

When I lived in PA I used to go to Lehigh to see the Eagles and would do really well. My nephew goes everyday and cleans house but it is very, very aggressive.
