Let me make myself very clear! I hope the Scum bag that shot and killed Trayvon gets the death penalty. He had no right to shoot that young man. He was a wanna be cop and he went to extremes and needs to be punished. I just hate when Race is played in these cases. It only divides us more and the news loves to do that. Mrveggieman and i disagree on almost everything but we do find common grounds on a few things and i also like to have him here. If we all agreed on everything it would be a boring place to chat.

This wasn't about race until the local police screwed the pooch. If they had done their jobs properly in the first place, this wouldn't be such an issue now.

The file now sits in the hands of the state attorney. Now that file is just weeks away from being opened to a grand jury.
It shows more now about why police believed that night that George Zimmerman shouldn't have gone to jail.
Zimmerman called 911 and told dispatchers he was following a teen. The dispatcher told Zimmerman not to.
And from that moment to the shooting, details are few.
But one man's testimony could be key for the police.
"The guy on the bottom who had a red sweater on was yelling to me: 'help, help…and I told him to stop and I was calling 911," he said.
Trayvon Martin was in a hoodie; Zimmerman was in red.
The witness only wanted to be identified as "John," and didn't not want to be shown on camera.
His statements to police were instrumental, because police backed up Zimmerman's claims, saying those screams on the 911 call are those of Zimmerman.
"When I got upstairs and looked down, the guy who was on top beating up the other guy, was the one laying in the grass, and I believe he was dead at that point," John said.
Sanford police say Zimmerman was bloody in his face and head, and the back of his shirt was wet and had grass stains, indicating a struggle took place before the shooting.

Why was Zimmerman following him? I can't claim to know what happened but is it possible that Trayvon Martin felt threatened and possibly reacted a certain way? I wouldn't take to kindly to somebody susupiciously following me.

And if this is all true, there is your reason for him getting shot. If I heard correctly there had been I believe 8 robberies all by young black males in that gated community the past 8 months. Hence why Zimmerman had called the cops so many times.

Interesting, though the cases are similar, I find that that society has become less tolerant of each other. Being under stress and listening to all the negative things said by one race or the other, pushes people to hate people. Yes, there were slaves, and yes there were slave masters, yet we always believe we are justified to do what we do.
I have also seen, that when times are good ( we all get along). I believe it has to do with the economy and what we perceive we should have and say.
