He was suspended for DAMAGE CONTROL. I think the guy is an idiot and needs to be gone from baseball for good. He is a racist moron that belongs nowhere a baseball stadium. But if the owners keep hiring him i hope the teams fail and fail miserably.

He absolutely should be suspended and not allowed to voice his opinion like that when it reflects badly on his employer. If you represent a certain organization or group you can't just go ahead and say whatever you feel like especially if it is not something the organization feels is acceptable to say.

It is not a violation of free speech to be punished by your employer for public remarks you have made. It would be a violation of free speech if the government threw him in jail for those remarks though.

so you're saying that you can go into your work tomorrow and say the most racist or vulgar comments you can think of and that you feel you have the right to say them without any kind of punishment from your work?
