Tons of folks just want the interaction. I have actually followed people that have done this, just to see if they buy anything at the end of the day. They don't.

Let me get back to you is the daily lie told by 75% of all members on SCF.

Yes, for whatever reason, these people have little or no interest in actually completing a transaction, knowing the other party can't compel them to do so. Merely a game to them, wasting other people's time.

It's not worth even trying to sell on here. Everyone wants to buy at 25% of Ebay and sell at full bore. It's pointless unless you're liquidating.

I make my purchase intentions very clear , i try to purchase lots to re-sell in order to make a few dollars to fund my pc , i have found some ppl willing to sell me "cheaper" lots and some aren't willing which is fine , but when i am purchasing a card to that is going into my pc i have no problem paying a reasonable asking price .

It is hard to figure out really. If I list cards for sale I always put that "I'm looking for roughly ebay pricing"

When I have a buying thread I always say the same thing "I'm looking to pay roughly ebay pricing" and yet deals never happen either way.

    It does get frustrating

I haven't sold on here since last summer so maybe things have changed but I've found that if you want to avoid low offers, take the time to post prices. If you're lazy and just say "looking for offers" or something similar, you can expect an uninformed offer in return.

When buying, I don't like making offers. Tell me your asking price, if it's reasonable I'll take it or if it's a little high, we can always negotiate.

And that's fair. The problem is when people see that going on here, they want the deals too, and they want it every time.

What people seem to forget is that Ebay, while it is the great equalizer, is not a genuine reflection of what most cards are really worth. Everyone seems to think Ebay prices reflect the median and want to pay less than that when Ebay prices are, in reality, the lower end of the spectrum and the deals they want are often ludicrous.

Case in point, I recently pulled a card with an Ebay average of about $10+s/h. I offered it up here first for $10 dlvd and got 1 offer of $5. I declined and put it on Ebay and it sold for a final price of $12+s/h. In short, unless you absolutely have to get rid of something, it's increasingly more and more useless trying to sell anything here or on other sites (SCF isn't unique, I've noticed it just about everywhere).

i don't know the details of your particular card and i haven't been here that long , but one thing i know is that selling here is a lot smaller market (less customers) than ebay , and no matter what you are selling from a law mower to a hockey card there is always that guy that calls and wants it for "nothing"

    Kinda funny story :
My Step Mother was selling a table and chair set on kijiji for 100$ guy calls up and asks the condition , she says good shape , few marks, well how MANY marks , obviosly she tells him she isn't going to count them , guy says ok i'll offer you 30 dollars if you can deliver it .
