Alternatives to Paypal?

Does anyone know if there is an alternative on-line payment service I can use on ebay besides Paypal? Let me explain why I would like to know.

I've used Paypal for the last 5 years with no issues. I am a verified member, have it linked to my checking account and have a cc as a backup payment source. I am not a drug dealer and I pay my taxes every year.

Since last weekend, whenever I try paying for a card on ebay, I receive an error message saying Paypal is unable to process my payment. At first, Paypal customer service said I needed to verify my cc again. Didn't work. Then they said it it was just just their system flagging a couple of transactions and it would work again. nada. Now they said they are having issues with their system which is causing accounts to get incorrectly blocked and they were working on it but have no idea when it will get fixed.

I would really like to close my Paypal account, but I have a feeling they may be the only game in town when it comes to ebay, since they're owned by the same company. If anyone has any insight into this, I'd be very grateful.

Thanks. I actually was transferred from ebay to a "specialist" at Paypal security, and he assured me that I would be able to access my funds again tomorrow. However, I am still going to look into alternatives b/c this is the third time someone from Paypal has told me something different...

Ebay and paypal are owned by the same company
You cannot accept any other forms of payment on ebay per their terms of service.
There are a multitude of other online money services but they hobby wont get behind any single one in force,so paypal it is.

As is true with so many things these days, "the game is fixed". I hope I can access my Paypal account again, otherwise I will be forced to stop buying and selling cards. Perhaps a mixed blessing...

cant you pay directly with your CC without using Paypal?

I quite using Ebay 2yrs ago because of issues with paypal. I found the buyer was always gonna get there money back no matter if you had DC Signature confirmation or otherwise and after that one raw deal I stopped using them when I walked away I had over 15,000 feedback on Ebay. I swore I'd never go back and honestly now I dont miss it at all, I find everything I need other ways and there are tons of ways to sale your items outside ebay. Good luck to you in whatever you chose to do I hope they fixed it.
