How does Carl Hagelin get 3 games, and Matt Carkner gets 1? 7 punches to a head versus an elbow to a head? Makes sense.

yea i'm clueless. Hagelin should have gotten 1, 2 at the most. i love this part of the reasoning:

Hagelin is a first time offender - 3 games
Carkner is a repeat offender - 1 game

ik Alfie being injured takes a part in it, but it isn't even known how long he will be out, he could be back in tomorrow for all we know. and Hagelin didn't intend to elbow Alfie. sure he made a mistake, but he didn't purposely go after his head.

it's gonna be really messed up if Neal or Asham don't receive any games.

To be fair, Carkner punched him once in the head. Once Boyle was on the ice, they were all body shots. I thought Carkner should have gotten 3 and Hagelin 3.

It is strange. I mean, if Carkner was a star player it would make total sense that they'd go lighter on him.... that's the NHL's way..... but unless being one of the league's top PIMs guys counts as star power, I don't think he qualifies.

Must have been becuase Haglin hit a star, and Carkner didn't.
