i think a lot of people will recommend you wait for SP Authentic...it had the best cards in terms of holding their value...also i like Crown Royale personally...i feel it has a good mix of Rookies, Auto's, and GU, but it is hit or miss...you can get them for around $150...might be a little more depending on whom u buy from
Please check my inventory before my photobucket!!! It's more up to date!!!

    Contenders definitely imo

$95 a box..7 case hits..super awesome designs IMO..there are quad autos, star autos, rookie autos, other multi autos, etc.....way more selection than SPA IMO..dont really see any cons in contenders lol :)

What about something like Artifacts? Do those hold value? 10/11 SPA?

Artifacts gives you beautiful base cards, 3 memorabilia cards, and 1 autograph. I personally favor it because you get 1 hockey legend to 999 or lower, two rookies to 999, and 1 base or rookie parallel to 99 or lower. You also get 1 patch, 1 dual or triple jersey card, 1 normal jersey card, all of players you've heard of, and one auto, normally all right. Plus, you get a rookie redemption. However, you only get 10 packs and they cost $140

I would do 11-12 Contenders. like said before. 7 case hits in a 14 box case. Thats a 50% of hitting a case hit. plus all the other hits you get from it like said above.

Artifacts most of the good hits are gone from it because its been out for months now.
Contenders is out on April 25th so on wednesday, all the good hits are obviously there because its not out yet.

Im spending $400 on 11-12 Contenders and I never open any boxes. thats how much confidence I have in 11-12 Contenders

are you going to order online or buy from lcs. I would buy from dacardworld.com if you are going to buy online because its free shipping if you spend over $150 which I will recommend you buying a 11-12 Contenders for $108 and then maybe another box if you have the funds if not then just get 1 box it will probably cost about $120-$125 from there instead of like $130-$140 from lcs

    Good luck on your decision

I will chip in as well. Best box at the 150$ range would be SPA/Contenders

    SPA Pros:
    - All Hard Signed! (For the most part, only stickers may be the 5 player + autos)
    - Highly collected set and holds value for the most part
    - Rookie Patches/ Veteran Patches case hits always are a big hit

Contenders Pros (Based on last year, cant base it on something that hasn't been released)
    - 4 (as compared to the three in SPA) Autos per box (though not necessarily hard signed, the rookies are)
    - Golden Tickets (probably not going to be inserted in this years production but I could be wrong)

    Cons (for both if necessary):
    - Both can leave you with absolute no names for autos
    - Too much inserts and parrallels in Contenders and too much sticker autos

If Contenders delivers what it states for the 11-12 year, I would say SPA will have a huge competition.

    Whatever your decision, Good luck!
