Hector Lombard is UFC bound!

the bellator middleweight champ is in the big show. one of the few remaining "can he make it in the UFC" questions is about to be answered.

this dude has been a beast in bellator for the past few years but as we know the competition in bellator is not on par with that in the UFC. the middleweight division is so shallow that a good number of lombard's fights have been non-title affairs.

that aside it will be very interesting to see how the UFC matches him up. will they throw him to the wolves(which i hope they do) or will they give him a rampage/eastman type of tune up fight? i say i hope they throw him to the wolves not because i hate him, i just think he deserves to be in the mix right off and a top 5 opponent would be ideal for him to get in that mix.

not saying this guy is the next big thing but he is the spider silva of his promotion, even if that promotion may not have top flight fighters.

now i'm hoping eddie alvarez makes the jump too.

I would say some of Hector's fights were better competition than some of Anderson's fights. Not many but Silva has fought some weak guys. I hope Hector has serious TDD

true, i like cote but i don't think he had any business going against silva, same with leites. but silva does have a knack for destroying champs or past champs, we haven't seen that with lombard yet. i think a first fight with bisping would be pretty nice style wise. he's top 5-ish, likes to strike, is a very technical striker and i don't think he'll threaten too much in the take down dept.

Tdd is take down defense. He's going to go against serious grapplers, and he'd better stay on his feet. He should fight Weidman let's see how game Hector is!

I had a dream that Hector fought Paul Harris for the #1 contender spot.
How did I know it was a dream? Cause they're two head cases and there were about a dozen referees in the cage waiting for something wacky to go down.

Everytime i hear hype about a strikeforce/bellator fighter coming over, i think about jake shields, and how much hes been disappointment IMO. So i try not to by into the hype anymore.
