For about 3+ years, I pulled in my scanned and jump drive in the the computer...Scanned the card...Saved it to jump drive..No problem

The last couple days...I cant do anything because whenever I put the jump drive or scanner into the slot...The computer says "Power Surge on Hub Port-The USB Drive has exceeded the power limit for this port"

There are 6 Ports..1 for Keyboard..1 for Mouse...and 4 for Jump Drives and such...I tried the 2 on the back of keyboard, and the 2 at bottom of computer..All say same thing

This just started happening....Do I need a new computer?

Any tech help know what happened? and how to fix it?

Just checked and the System Standby was Never and the Enable Hibernation was unchecked

Do you have other USB devices running at the same time that do not have their own power supply ?
Try disconnecting them if you do. USB hub only puts out so much power.

Did you run any recent updates? Sometimes updates fix one thing and "break" another in the process.

Try this and see if it helps. (I assume you are using XP, might be different for W7)

1.Click on Start.
2.Click on Control Panel.
3.Double-click on the System Icon.
4.Click on the Hardware Tab.
5.Click on the Device Manager button.
6.Click on the + next to Universal Serial Bus Controllers to expand the selection.
7.Right-click and select Properties on any listing that displays USB UNIVERSAL HOST CONTROLLER.
8.Click on the Advanced Tab.
9.Check the box that says: Don't tell me about USB errors.

EDIT: If you have Win7 and need step-by-step on it just let me know and I will give you that.

Did you fix it? Computers are very complicated and for some reason sometims their hardware stops working for no reason. Sometimes a simple reboot would do the trick...lol...let us know to see if we can be of more help.
