Panini Previews Prime and DOMINION!
paniniamerica.wordpress.com/2012/06/02/panini-america-routing-table-confidential-peeking-2011-12-prime-dominion-hockey/

Every product that Panini America creates — even those as rich, decadent, high-end and hubbub-inducing as the upcoming 2011-12 Prime Hockey and 2011-12 Dominion Hockey — first begin to take shape on the Routing Table that sits rather inconspicuously in the back of Panini America HQ in the Product Development area.
It’s the central location for the color copies that will become tomorrow’s most collected cards only after they’ve been scrutinized by every key department in the company — Editorial, Prepress, Product Development, Design, Photography, Marketing and Production. Once any and all changes have been made internally, the routings are submitted to the appropriate leagues — in this case the NHL and NHLPA — for the final approval that will trigger their transformation from color copy to must-have card.
And what I saw on the Routing Table yesterday stopped me in my skates — in-progress images of the sweet base set for 2011-12 Prime Hockey and the first images anywhere of a few must-see inserts coming to 2011-12 Dominion Hockey. Yes, Dominion Hockey.
In honor of tonight’s 2012 Stanley Cup Finals Game 2 between the Los Angeles Kings and New Jersey Devils, we provide the following gallery, a tip-of-the-iceberg peek into the two high-end heavyweights that will cap Panini America’s 2011-12 NHL season with a bang.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

Do I see a Peerless Patches quad card with Gordie Howe's name on the back? Did Panini get a Howe gamer?

Assuming its a Wings gamer it would be huge, and the other three names on the card are no slouches either.

This provides an interesting view into the production process.
Dominion, the highest end release by Panini with hard signed autos everywhere and its still in the drafting to be approved stages in June for a presumably late August release.
Two months from production to signing to release for Dominion.
Very impressive.

For some items, two months is probably a fair bit of time. Memorabilia cards I'd imagine are relatively easy to assemble. Autographs...that's a different kettle of fish. I suppose if they overnight the cards to the player(s) with a return box and the players follow SCF Rules and get their stuff out within 3 days of cashing the cheque, it's doable enough. We know that the Hall/RNH/Eberle triple auto Pen Pals got signed at the Rookie Photo Shoot months ago, so some stuff has long been in the planning process.
It's neat to see this behind the curtain stuff eh?

Yes we have a Howe gamer...it's a gem. Almost teared up having to cut it up for the Peerless Patches.

11-12 Dominion!
As long there are other known examples, I have no problem with older HOF jerseys being "reconfigured" as I call it into a group of jersey and patch cards in high-end releases. It's the evolution of modern sports collecting and that process invented a whole new artform in the one-of-kind (not 1/1 unless they true) patch creations.
