SPx vs. Certified
Since I've starting collecting again in 08-09, I've always stuck with Spx Auto Rookie Jsy (first card being a Stamkos bought for $40). Since then I've collected the complete set for every year but I was looking at the collection the other day and I'm really getting sick of the square cut jersey, I started looking at the 11-12 certified auto rookie jsy and the "rookie" die cut looks pretty cool I've never had one in hand so I'm just going by pics. I'm thinking about doing that set, but I wanted to take a vote/poll to see everyone's thought is on them.

This year's Certified Rooke Jerseys look Really nice because of the cutting and are not as expensive as the SPX Rookie Jerseys. I remember 08-09 SPX had an amazing design with the X shapped rookie jerseys. I'd say do the Certified Rookie Jerseys. It's a quick set to do, it will cost less than the SPX Rookie Jersey Autos and maybe even look nicer.

I agree with Brassardfan. I had a Hodgson in hand and they are very nice cards to have and I can imagine having the entire set being a beauty ! Especially with SPx being released recently enough, the prices are still a little higher then they should probably be. Now with Certified, it has been released for months so the value has come down considerably and might be a little easier on the wallet ! Regardless, best of luck on whichever set you decide to complete !

I had a Landeskog one (I recently traded it on here :P) from Certified and it was a pretty neat card (Actually only my 2nd pull ever. From a blaster box none the less lol) And it was pretty sweet, the sticker auto killed it though. Now have a Gardiner jersey and while I do like the die cut and think it's neat, you rarely (I don't even think I've ever seen one) where you get a 2 color jersey so while the die cut is cool the jersey swatch is always pretty bland

Which 11/12 set did you complete ???
On your original post it said you were looking at completing the set but you wanted some insight as you were going off of pictures.
SPx and Certified are both sitcker autos so they both loose a little value there. Hopefully SPA will come out with some hard signed rookie autos along with the higher end products coming out (Prime, Dominion & The Cup).

I think the Certified RC's look absolutely INCREDIBLE in hand. I'd say go that route.

Certified are incredible in hand... especially the parallels. Also, 08/09 was the best SPx.
