I'm also looking at all the Saad Titanium cards that are showing up on eBay. I've seen two of the /43 cards sell on eBay, for $120 and $125.

But how the heck do you tell if that's the normal jersey number card, or the draft position parallel? Every other rookie it is obvious since jersey number and draft position is different. But Saad is #43 for each, lol.

I know that the cards will be different as far as thickness and foil. But that doesn't seem readily apparent from eBay photos. So do I need to ask each seller if the card is thick or thin?

Oh wow, I was wondering if that might happen. You'd probably be left to ask each seller if it's the thick or thin version and trust they aren't lying lol. That's a bummer.

I usually tell if it's the RC or the parallel by looking at the serial number (what it's out of). Sports Card Radio has a nicely laid out checklist I use for reference.

Right, that's the way to do it, but that still doesn't help me with the Saad, lol. I was trying to point out that his cards are unique - he was drafted #43 - he wears #43 - so same serial number on both cards! Saad is the only rookie in the set with that oddity.

I don't think it's bad at all they sell high, cards need to sell higher, it's sickening when someone pulls a superhot nasty casehit card and folks congrat him and say "great now you get most of your box money back". So to get your box money back you must pull a superhit, which is insane- So if something in this inflation hobby is finally hot and sell well, be happy.

Personally, I think this is the explaination to the high prices:

    1) No other true rookies are this low numbered, even a local hero no-name got his followers and those very much want his rookie.

    2) If anyone is crazy anough to try the set they will pay top dollars

    3) Some are calculating, me too, I'm on the lookout for the lesser names very low numbered, cause if these guys will succeed later in life, 2,3,4 years ahead (a lot of rookies are late bloomers!), good luck finding these rookies, it will be impossible! I just picked up Eddie Lack in a private buy over at HI, $35 dlvd, and it's already the best buy this year for me, he sold for $100 last nigth on ebay! But I'm gonna keep him, we Swedes believe in him a lot, and goalies often take time to mature. 5 years from now, if he is hit, that rookie will be gold. Very very few other rookiecards has the same potential, maybe no other really, for stacking up rookies, hold them and wait. Imagine a now not-interesting rookie kid 5 years from now and he's a superstar. I'm not sure we've seen such potential value in cards in a long time.

So why the complaining, isn't it great folks finally get excited over something? I also think lots are scared the really low numbered stuff will be bougth and then disappears, so they grab it right away. The /100 cards, that is a just trendy, it will fade very soon.

    This is absolutely brilliant.

Well I pulled the John Moore rookie (jersey #) last night numbered 3 of 4. Put it on ebay for $1400 (I honestly had no idea what to put for value) and had a pretty incredible offer within an hour or so. I know I won't get that much for it but I find it amazing what ppl are willing to pay for these

Ah, sorry dude, didn't catch that - read too quickly. But yeah for Saad it wouldn't work. Like you said, you can go with shiny and thick, but you could never be sure from just a picture on the internet.

That's an awesome buy. Good work. I want to pick up a Lack too, but not at the current prices. I'm banking on the hype dying down soon, so I can pick one up at a more affordable price.

This has become rather annoying, I may just skip the Saad rookie and draft parallel, lol.

Have contacted 3 ebay sellers about the Sadd /43 they are listing.

    - One seller said it's the true rookie card as described. I explain why I am asking. He responds didn't know both Saad cards are /43, and asks me if I know how to tell them apart. I've explained, waiting for response.

    - One seller says it looks like the real rookie card because it is numbered to his jersey number. I explain why I am asking, asked to confirm thickness, waiting for response.

    - One seller says it is true rookie because it is numbered to his jersey number, guessing draft position maybe out of 100. I explain both cards are numbered /43. Seller response is "good question, I don't know, cards all look the same these days". Keep asking about thickness but can't seem to get an answer.
