Topps Sell Sheet
The classic 1887 remake returns after a stellar debut. The 350 base cards come in both full-size and mini versions. The standard sized base set cards feature a color 'art-style" action picture of the named player. Bordered in gray with a cream colored graphic, the card fronts have the set name, player name and team name centered along the bottom. The card backs are photo-less, have the team logo and list brief information about a highlight of the player form 2011.
What I pulled:
247 unique cards
188 base set cards = 188/350 base cards = 53% of the base set

Designed like the original 1887 set, 2012 Gypsy queen delivers the look and feel for the nostalgia collectors. I really like the mix of retired stats, current players and RCs. Personally I am not a fan of art-style cards, but I understand that for this product it was necessary. The autographs are on-card and really look good and stand out. The collation was right on with the stated hits. The hits are well designed. Lots of inserts and parallels will make for a fun chase for master set collectors!
The Bottom Line:
I give 2012 Topps Gypsy Queen a buy rating. You should be able to complete the base set with 2 boxes. Lots of parallels and inserts to chase will make this a fun product for set collectors. Buy a box and trade your tigers to me!
The Final Score:
Final Ratings (Out of 5):

Big-hit Hunter: 3/5

Value: 5/5
Re-buy: 5/5
Overall Quality: 5/5
Overall: 33/40 (83% = B)
Topps sent me this box to review for Full Spectrum Baseball. As always I am offering base and insert cards to members here for a SASE.
Thanks to Topps for making this review possible!
