lol. I said the same thing when Talbot signed there.
Don't follow either team closely, but seems like a good hockey deal; gotta love when brothers get to play on the same side.
Marc to Carolina perhaps? Michalek to Phoenix? haha. Neither likely, but would be cool to unite a few more brothers.

I could see Ottawa targetting the other Michalek, but not trading the other away haha

interesting comments about JVR...Carter soft, so what says the Kings, they have other players to fill that role, ironically Richards being one!, just let em do what he does best, score goals...JVR, at only 21? and tall, but only 200lbs, he has a lot of room/time to add 10 plus lbs of muscle and Confidence...Sure Hartnell and Jags did well with Giroux, but where is the future in that? Jags is testing free agency and 40 plus, I never understand why teams draft these very young offensive skill guys, than put them with 3rd line duds with short minutes and wonder why they don't produce.
Anyway I am glad the Bruins let Wheeler go, it took him 25 games to finally score his first goal...and than, Wow, he turned into a Monster!!Bucket: Hidden Content
Interested in anything hockey, any team, mostly less common rookie cards and anything with a Team Canada jersey.

I say Schenn flourishes in Philly........he'll lead the league Dmen in hits again. His Plus/Minus will be much improved because he will actually get help from the other dmen and players on the Flyers......unlike Phaneuf, Gardiner, Gunnarsson and Franson who always looked for the points and never took defensive responsibility first. Unlike, Kessel, Lupul and the other floaters who would only come back to their half of centre and look for the long pass instead of coming back into their own end........
I think JVR will fail miserably in Toronto......Kessel will suck again.......he and Lupul will skate around like flying fairies for the first half of the season, scoring goals and looking decent until crunch time. Then, physical play will cause them both to tuck into their shells and avoid any and all physical content thrown their way. JVR will not utilize his size and try to be pure offense, which he is not, instead of grinding it out for goals. If the Leafs wanted a big presence, they should have traded for Ryan Clowe.
This coming from a Leaf fan.....Last edited by gardzy99; 06-24-2012 at 02:38 PM.

i agree with your opinions on kessel and i was so disgusted with his play by the end of the year that i pretty much gave away my entire kessel pc. however, i don't think the rest of the team plays in the same mould as he does. for starters lupul came back to the nhl as an all star player after two career threatening injuries and how he didn't win the masterton trophy is beyond me. your comments on the d men is once again attributed to the coaching style of ron wilson who in my opinion quit on the team and with that, so did most of the team. hopefully, carlyle offers a sense of energy and enthusiasm next year and those problems are alleviated.

Hopefully the Leafs have a more balanced attack with Kulemin rebounding, Kessel putting up PPG #'s, JVR breaking out and scoring 25G and 50P, Grabo playing like a $5.5mil player, etc.

I think both teams got what they needed.

Good deal for both teams. JVR will be under twice the scrutiny than Schenn is however and will be expected to produce on a consistent basis. His rather Bi-polar scoring nature may not be welcomed for long in Toronto.
He cannot take games off, then resume playing good, he MUST show up every game even in support.
Schenn will feel free in Philly and will eventually lead the defense within 2 seasons.
