I have not opened up a box of SP Authentic since 99-00 season when I stupidly completed the entire set including all Autographs and it cost me almost $2000 to do.

I may be picking up the scraps off eBay for pennies once everyone else has shelled out way too much money again for 5 cards in a duck-shoot.

    Happy Busting !!

I'se part of a group break tomorrow, 1 maybe 2 boxes, and I'm getting a box for my birthday :D

But yeahhhhhhh, considering my luck with packs, I wouldn't spend actual MONEY money on it.........................

Theres a SOTT triple with Yzerman listed, but it sounds like a 10-11 card that didn't make it out last year?

    2010-11 SP Authentic Update Autographs
    ST3-GR8
    Mario Lemieux/Mark Messier/Steve Yzerman
    '10-11 SOTT Triple
    /25

The 10-11 SPA checklist listed this card as Team Canada/Team Canada/Team Canada

Some very cool SOTT's, but I won't be buying any. None of my main PC guy, and only low print auto's of others.

Luca Caputi and Keith Aulie SOT for the LEafs? Somewhat out of date if you ask me. Surprising given the delays and the fact that Caputi is an AHL'er not really a Maple Leafs roster player.

EDIT: not to mention both are no longer with the Leafs.

While it is strange, the cards were likely already signed before they were traded. Everyone wants hard signed cards over sticker autos, but with that the companies need the cards signed in advance and returned to them. With stickers, they can have a player signed bunch of sheets of stickers and put them on cards as needed. If a player is traded, theoretically the company could print new cards and slap stickers on those as long as there is enough time before release.

Surprising seeing Hagelin, Smith, and a couple other rookies not auto'd. No cards to chase, and I will definitely have to see some breaks of it before had and maybe the cards live before I actually touch it. The rookie auto crop is pretty weak this year, especially with who was left off, so I have a feeling this will drop in price anyways. The rookie extended series is kind of different though, but I don't know how well they will do on the secondary market. I'm guessing the Future Watches are still the True RCs though.

I think I'm going to go after the SOTT set. So if anyone needs to unload some, we can work something out. Thanks.

Well other then trying to put the set together for myself there is only one card that I need for my Player Collection and its a Base Card. Interesting. I have been noticing less and less of Rick Nash stuff comming out in past sets.

For the first year in a long time I think I might skip SPA. Breaks just don't look that great. The non rookie hits are few and far between and the rookie class is pretty week. Landeskog is a redemption (Nuge?) and you'd really need a huge vet hit to make it worthwhile. I love the design of the FW auto patches though.

+1. I've only seen 2-3 Patches and 1-2 dual auto per case as well. It's got more rookie hits, but it's a curse more than a blessing. A month from now, the secondary market won't be as strong.
The rookie crop isn't strong, and judging by the two cases, it's a crapshoot. The one case REALLY outdid the other one, but on a box by box basis it just isn't worth $130 for me. Maybe $100 and I'd get a box, but I'm not crazy over the design. I'd rather buy Titanium or save up for Prime.

Another reason I won't buy it is because they didn't give a reason as to why it's delayed. I have lost a lot of faith in Upper Deck lately as far as designs.
