Panini is definitely coming on. Their products have been getting better and better along with the design and the return on boxes. Also they are getting their products out on time, and have been improving with everything, from redemptions to collation, it's been getting better. UD sales may be better, but Panini's have improved drastically. SPA will blow away Contenders for a few reasons: it costs more, and the anti-Panini people will be spending out of their minds on it because they've had nothing else to spend it on. When the markets settle down in a month, it'll be the same. The first Nuge's from both products sold for around the same.

Here is how far panini has come. I was sick when I heard another company was comming on. During the first year I hated panini and was very dissapointed. Then the 2nd year comes and i was pretty impresed with the way the turned things around. I started to buy their boxes and really enjoyed them this year. UD is going down and I thought I would never support anyone but UD. That has changed big time.

i couldn't agree more with UD slipping and panini coming on. i love the calder contenders which is the closest thing to the fwa and quite honestly, i like dominion over the cup. designs are beautiful, patches are better and larger and same print runs. even prime has me drooling. i am excited that there is two companies, it only makes for better products. i don't like the fwa slipping though, i think it's mostly because it came out so late but didn't last years spa come out fairly late too.
besides, cup/dominion etc always comes out in the summer, and that doesn't hurt them, just normal for those products. maybe spa came out too late though because people grew tired of waiting and bought other stuff or are waiting for the big ones now. poor move by spa. they had all that time, and still couldn't get hodgson and kassian in their new jersey's while other products have.

Why would you be upset about another company coming on? Competition only means positive things for collectors. Plus UD has been dropping the ball regularly the last few years.

I'm glad you guys don't collect other sports because Panini has done poorly in other sports. Hockey they have done well and it helps UD is slipping in terms of customer service. I still wish Topps would get in the game, but the competition has helped Panini and hurt UD.

Why would you be sick?
Did you collect cards when the Original Parkhurst, OPC, Topps, Donruss, Pacific, Flair, Leaf (a division of Donruss) were all making outstanding cards?
It was sheer bliss. If all those companies were all still stand alone and competing today, UD would have had to Pony-Up or take down it's tent.

Spa USED to be the first rookie on card auto out, Panini already gave us that with Limited at the begining of the year, then Crown Royale and Contenders.
Its the middle of July , 35 degres + outside , a bunch of hobbyist pack out when the season is done.

if that theory was correct, then why doesn't coming out in the summer hurt the cup/dominion/prime etc? just cause they are the highest of high, they will always do well? i have to think it's more about panini's rise and more hard signed auto rc's now that's hurt the fwa.
i'm sure we still all love the fwa though. i know i do.
