No it is just another way for card companies to not put the real product in the product,making redemptions such that some people don't even redeem them and they win out in the end. It is like when companies send you a credit card as a refund thing, as some people don't even use the card.

Ok kind of like the free after mail in rebate thing when companies bank on customers buying the product but never redeming the rebate. Or when the company denies the rebate because of a technicality. Pretty much another way business get over on the comnsumer.
