$2 RNH insert FT, LF high-end Crosby, Gretzky, Orr in return, not checking buckets!!

... What?? Everyone else seems to be making these demanding, short-sighted offers, I just thought I'd get in on it too.
Any suckers out there want to take me up on this? I'd be happy to say no to any decent offer you make regardless!

Same with resale threads. They want highend, and wont check buckets. People wanna win trades it seems.

I'm new in the hobby and I probably don't understand all it's twists due to my newbie status and the fact that I don't write in english a lot (I'm french), but I sometimes scratch my head seeing some demands. I don't want these people to get in the way of my fun to trade and to collect, but I don't understand why people are making these types of demands either.

From my point of view, it's fun to wake up with someone wanting a particular card of yours, or vice-versa, and to come to a trade that was not pinpointed to the extreme. I understand there are others ways of thinking, and I was able to do some really cool trades here.

That people wanting to win a trade at all cost is a little bit weird, too. I often find myself being the one who round the corners to complete a trade because I feel the other guy is not satisfied. Maybe it's all about satisfation.

On other side, I clearly see a lot of different people at the local card shop, and it's the same thing here. Another reason to cherish those who fit with you, I believe.

The whole thing with winning trades now seems to be one of the things that makes it more difficult to trade. I don't mind giving up value if the cards I'm getting in return are PC cards. However, when I'm trading my cards that are going to be PC cards for you and I'm taking cards that are not PC in return I expect to a least get an even return or a little more. I think the TV show Barter Kings is one factor in this trend.

    Amen to this!

I'm primarily a set collector, so it's common that I'm giving up higher 'value' (trade or sale) for several lower 'value' cards for a set I'm working on finishing. No big deal (my only other option would be to sell and then buy - which I've basically resorted to as the default). However, the gap between an $80 sale value card and 10 $1-each base that I need is not always 2 random jersey cards of third-, fourth-liners, or rookies who didn't pan out. Is it really a surprise that I would prefer to make up the gap with 'at least' a $70 sale value card? I mean, you get a high $ card for your PC while I get some set filler and another trade? I want that next trade to be as 'easy' as possible...

I guess the thing that kills me is that while we jokingly gripe about the absurdity of these offers... the guys who make these posts are making deals! When I first started trading online, there was a guy posting all the time on Beckett, 'Trading 3-1 BV in your favor for your autographs.' All he had for trade was base (some of it 90s) and low-end inserts. I couldn't image wanting to pick out even 24 $1-BV inserts to make up for a 'junk' $8 auto. But, he made over 500 trades...

I can't say I'd turn down the opportunity to score a Gretzky or Orr auto for a 5000-ct box of mixed commons, though... [I know the wife would be happy to see a box leave for a single card, lol]
