2012-2013 UD Series One Young Guns
Just read somewhere on here that UD1 will only contain rookies from last year that did NOT appear in 11-12 UD2.
I don't follow this information much, I know many of you do.
Let's get a list of potential 12-13 YG's
Chris Kreider...

All Rookies ( assuming the lockout lasts that long) will contain the holdover rookies that didn't make the cutoff date last season. With that being said. Series 1 will be a weak crop without all the big names. But Series 2 (assuming lockout isn't for a full season) will be front loaded.
Not much big names for series 1 but the few I can think of
Krieder
Schwartz
baertchi ( wrong spelling for sure)

Take a look at who is in Score and O-Pee-Chee. That's the potential pool of YG candidates. Because the 2012 draft class is not eligible for rookie cards until they play an NHL game there will be no Yakupov, Murray, Galchenyuk, etc. for some time.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

Ouch sounds like Series 1 is going to be a rough break this year unless they through in some retro young guns like they did last lockout.

Stone and Silvfverberg whatever his name is both played 1 playoff game for Ottawa last season.
I'd honestly do it based on AHL debuts for recently drafted picks lol.

That's 48 names. Toss in a checklist and you get to 49...... I'm sure Upper Deck can find someway to fill that out to 50.

If those are the potentials for YGs, that is uuuuber weak. Besides Stone (mark), Schwartz and Kreider, and even those guys are second-ish tier.

I don't really collect rookie cards unless I can get a OPC Victory or Score Rookie for 50 cents or something but I do follow the NHL and prospects closely and the ones below edited from the list above are fairly notable players worth getting who will get a chance to play. Baertschi, Schwartz, Silfverberg, and Kreider as pointed out before could become stars but I wouldn't be surprised with some of the other guys either if they did. Tyson Barrie for example is a very good well-rounded dman who some consider to be the better of the Colorado D prospects compared to Stefan Elliott. Welsh and Brown were a couple college signings last season who can put up points. Guys like Cizikas and Zucker are good 2-way players with a good work ethic and scoring ability shown before who are fairly safe bets to be NHLers at some point even if it's just 3rd line.
