    Obama hypotheticals

Since everyone likes to make up things about President Obama let me throw out a couple of hypotheticals. I was discussing these on another website and wanted to bring them over here. Again none of these are true but if they were how would you feel. First everyone lies and says that Obama is a muslim. For the record there is nothing wrong with being a muslim but it is simple an untrue statement about President Obama. So let's say that he is a muslim. Would it change your opinion of him? Would you not vote for him because of that? Why or why not? Also religion aside say that President Obama were married to a white woman? Would that change your view on him? Why or why not. If I could answer President Obama enjoys the same 1st amendment rights that any other US citizen enjoys so his religous preference is a complete non issue to me. Also if he was married to a white woman that's his wife not mines so again it is a complete non issue. I am wondering what the conservative crew has to say.

If Obama was a Muslim, I wouldn't respect him enough to vote for him, were I American. Nothing to do with Muslim, but the amount he has insisted he's not a Muslim. I believe he's a Christian and if he claimed to be a Muslim from the start, that's fine too. But if he claimed so hard that he's not a Muslim and really was, what does that say of his convictions?

White woman? Who gives a crap?

On the same token one might say that they couldn't vote for bush/clinton/regan/etc because they were christians and christanity has a history of racism, sexism, homophobia and one couldn't respect any christian.

Now that we're done playing Captain Obvious...

Being against religious persecution, I would call you a bigot and never vote for you, ever, for anything.

I'm guessing at what you're saying (I think one would have to...) but you didn't answer, you just turned racism around on black women for some reason.

At least there's that. Though, are you implying that Barrack beats his wife? Are you saying it's ok for him to beat his wife as long as she's not white?

If he lied about religion that would be an issue. What if he were always a muslim from day one would you be ok with it?

My answer to that question is right in the middle of my post you quoted, veg.

I couldn't care less either way. I think nowadays that presidential candidates unfortunately have to feign religious ties to get elected. I think the last devoutly religious person that we elected President was Jimmy Carter. Other than that, I think they've all said what they needed to on the religion side as to not upset anybody.
