It's combination card surface/pen issue. I've found that even with something like sharpies (The BEST marker pens for autos), various colours tend to not take as well, depending on the surface. The reds look like they may not have been sharpies and/or the card surface wasn't matte finish but gloss, instead. Regardless, I can see a premium being paid for solid/clean auto's as opposed to the bubbling ones. I for one won't even consider buying a hard-signed auto card if the autographs are of poor physical quality. Why? Because I just have to wait an eventually I'll be able to buy the auto I want either from a different set, in person, or whatever. I won't even discuss sticker autos, because for me those cards don't even exist or carry the value of a broken penny.

Since Dr. Price is on these boards promoting is products all the time , i think we owes us some sort of answer on what the issue was and how it will be avoided in the future

The bubbling autos are horrid and at this point in time there's no acceptable reason/excuse for it. Turned what could have been a fun product into a complete pass as far as wax breaking goes and won't even consider buying the auto for my PC unless there magically happens to be a decent one out there but so far they're all bubbled.

So is fading autos going to be a new trend in the hobby now? Didn't many of the Panini Prime cards have the exact same issue because of the gloss of the cards?

I'm sure both companies have and will look into and prevent future sets from having the issue.

Fading autos is nothing new at all - venture into any card shop that has some older Trilogy Ice Scripts or leaves autos in a display case by a window.

The only place to show auto cards is in a closet that is blacker than the inside of a crow, using a flash-light. Anywhere else and they will fade markedly.

Fading autos...It's not an issue and you know it. If you love ITG, it's great that you defend your passion but don't mix the facts. These are bubbling autos, it's a brand new card. Issue is, that pen doesn't fit with the card.

We came to that conclusion already the pen and the glossy finish don't work but like Tim said above all autos fade over time, some more than autos. Example, upper deck sweet spot baseball skin autos. Some have already disappeared after 4-5 years

Andrew we know also that many of the autograph, if not all, will fade over time. But if we consider that the autographs are acceptable for such a condition when you get them, so what is the point that they tend to have autographs at all.

    Blanco autographs.. next hit?

I wonder also that Mr. Price not commented in any way that clear problem he have, although he is usually very active here.
