10 years ago I would've NEVER believed that this country would VOTE for gay marriage and marijuana.
Today I woke up to a brighter America.
An America that is FINALLY becoming more progressive, where it no longer restricted to the nonsense of "tradition" and wants to move Forward.
Today, I am PROUD of this country.

Wow. I know it's a big game and most of this is said out of anger at losing it but wow.
A lot of ignorance in this thread.

And to think Romney would have been elected if everyone who voted would have been made to show their birth cert, soc sec card, driver's liscence, passport, college transcripts, complete medical records, write a 25 page term paper, as well as showing a note from the mother. Oh where is our country headed?Drug and smoke free trading.

Do you think being proud of one or two things means you aren't proud of any others? Do you think the military needs to be mentioned in every conversation?
Or are you just mad about something and picking on Alex?

I'm going to help you out and make myself a lot easier to read....
Yes, I'm happy that a few states have legalized Marijuana and Gay Marriage, but you're missing the point of my post.
The U.S has been stuck on a "traditional" mindset, where we can't change certain things simply because we have never been that type of country.
I don't like that idea and I refuse to believe that's how America really is.
This is a country which only 200 years ago had slaves and deeply subjugated women
We have come a long way, but there is still a lot more left to be accomplished.
Progress is the way to go.
Leaving behind our preconceptions and EMBRACING a future where things change in a positive way.
