    And so it begins....

I just posted this link on facebook ...
The Tea baggers have already started...The election results in most states have not been certified yet(i.e. Florida). They havent changed one bit and I guess they wont....

    Personally I think Eric Cantor

A few thoughts add by some friends

Well that didn't take long. Election is 2 days out, and Eric cantor (R-VA) is already taking the Debt Limit hostage for spending cuts. He's demanding entitlement cuts in return for ensuring that the nation doesn’t default on its debt:

"Resolving the issues surrounding the fiscal cliff, especially the replacement of the sequester, and the next debt limit increase (likely necessary in February) will require that the President get serious about real entitlement reform. While it is unrealistic for us to expect the President to embrace our vision of Medicare reform or Obamacare repeal, it is equally unrealistic for the President to continue to insist that Obamacare is off the table, or that Medicare and Medicaid require nothing more than some additional provider cuts. We will measure entitlement savings on the basis of whether they are sustainable and whether they actually bend down the cost curve".

Here's an idea. We take $1 billion from the d
Defense budget. That's all. $1 billion. Then, we let the Bush tax cuts expire. They were never meant to be permanent (if they were, Bush wouldn't have written them with an expiration date). Let's get rid of the "government paid cars" you use. Drive your own personal vehicle, and submit mileage reimbursement forms, like the rest of us do. We'll save on gas, maintenance, and insurance for those vehicles. There are PLENTY of ways we can save money without repealing Obamacare (which he seems to have a hard-on for ---pardon my expression---).

We had better not have a repeat of last year. (and if Boehner was serious about working with the President, he had better lay the smack down now, and tell Cantor to Shut up)

If we got rid of government cars, GM would go out of business.

Seriously, I don't like making the fiscal cliff a bargaining chip, but the President and the democrats in Congress need to get serious about entitlement reform. They all acknowledge that it is a problem, but they have not even attempted to fix the problem, because it will cost them votes. They would rather stay in power than fix our fiscal problems.

Playing chicken with the nations finances has nothing to do with national pride and everything to do with party over country.

Well the same can and will be said about the teapublicans in Congress...If they are really there to do the right thing...they need to get to the table and work on the tax reform! I like your nearsightedness, but he truth is the President has offered deals offered to cuts some programs. and the Tea Baggers rejected them!

Actually, during the last crisis, he and Boehner had a deal, then Obama made more demands at the last minute and Boehner said no.

I read that in Bob Woodward's new book on the fiscal cliff. I would say that it's as reliable an account of those events as any.
