2011-12 H+P or BTP?

I would go with H&P, I've seen bigger hits from BTP but I prefer the look and feel of the H&P set. All the subsets and inserts in BTP make it seem diluted and without focus. If you do decide on H&P I have a bunch of the base set if you need any to complete it:P

I already had my mind made up but thanks to your post I'm back to being undecided, I'll prolly think it over this weekend and decide by Sunday, I plan on purchasing 2 boxes of whichever product I decide. I appreciate the feedback so far, feel free to keep em coming! I am leaning more towards BTP because I do prefer goalies over prospects and the sweet GU's are enticing, I didn't realize H&P were mainly focused on prospects as opposed to heroes... so where exactly do the heros come in?

Yeah, the really big/limited #'d hits are all prospects in H+P. Off the top of my head, the heroes have a GU card (+ parallel(s)), an auto, and usually a dual GU with a prospect.

Most H&P boxes will contain 2 autos, 2-3 memorabelia and 2-3 inserts. That seemed to be how my case went. I can't really remember my BTP but believe it was close to that with maybe a few more inserts. H&P is heavily tilted to prospects with only 8 heroes autos and 3 of those are sps. The jersey cards of guys playing in the NHL (well that were playing untill this year) are a bit more prevalent with the sub-sets.

I have always been a BTP fan...of course, I am a Miller collector, so chances of hitting Ryan Miller stuff helps. H&P...just too much prospects, not enough Heroes.

I was happy with the box of H&P that I got last year. I pulled most of the prospects I wanted from the base set and I got what I think were pretty good hits. The base collation was good as I pulled very few doubles. If you bought two boxes I'd say your odds of having a complete base set would be pretty high.

If you're a goalie fan, definitely you'll want to go with BTP. Not only do you get the occasional top prospect netminder (as you would also with H&P) you can score some of the legends and current stars who have played in nets. The 11-12 release was the 10th anniversary release and so ITG put in some very nice, very low #'d cards for collectors.

Well after much consideration I've decided to go with BTP, I just like goalies better than prospects. I also watched a few youtube breaks of both products and I just love the look of BTP. I've already ordered 2 boxes and can't wait to break em!

Good choice IMO -

The BTP set just feels better organized, and has a better spread of prospects to heroes. H&P tends to be all over the map as far as top 10 pick vs prospects vs career AHLers vs heroes.

While they also both have some great hits to find, my experience has seen better quality from BTP than from H&P.

Well I also realized I already had some 2011/12 BTP base cards (#'s 16, 154, and 157 + a few more which I've sent as TTM) they were used as fillers/protection from an eBay order LOL! I like the way the cards look, I also like goalies more than prospects... honestly I've never really been a fan of prospects on any sport.
