Redemption Produced After Five Years!
Well now I have a quandary.
A card that I had snagged for the PC waaaay back in 2008 - a redemption for a 2007-08 SP Game Used SIGnificance Josh Gorges auto - now finally exists.
I waited 2 years for it before finally requesting a replacement upon getting confirmation from Upper Deck that the card would not be produced. I suspect that this means I won't be getting it unless I can find a copy on eBay or elsewhere. That's where I saw the copy today at least so that's good.
Still...five years after the fact and three years after being told it would not be produced...mixed feelings. Haha
anybody ever have a similar experience? Did UD send the card to you?
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

Wow, that is unfortunate!! I have never had this experience before, but it is just another reason why I am leaning toward only buying ITG products. Between Panini's quality control (and redemption process) and Upper Decks lack of caring (and redemption process) I just don't know who is worse anymore. Either way, I hope you're finally able to get that card!!

There was 1 card from shea weber rookie year that wasn't produced. If it showed up now I would be ticked. I was already mad it wasn't made cause it was a card /25 with a sticker auto.

Wow this is fascinating, why would they just finally put out this card now? Did someone stumble upon a box of unfinished cards in a dark corner somewhere and think "hey, we have a bunch of extra sticker autos we can use on these!".

I had the same thing with this:
JUSSI TIMONEN / KIMMO TIMONEN 2007-08 SP GAME USED HOCKEY EXTRA SIGnificance # to 25
Was told that it won't be produced and they send me a replacement. I would've had time to wait for this as Timonens are my pc players and it would be a historic card in a Finnish point of view. Anyway a copy surfaced on ebay a couple of weeks ago and went for pretty high $. Wrote a "polite" email to UD and they responded:
"I’m sorry for your frustration with this – we were actually just able to complete the cards in January, and they were sent out as redemptions to those who were still waiting on this card. We checked with our redemption team on this, and we do have one remaining, which we will get sent your way."
Don't understand why would anyone still be waiting... Haven't received it yet but if/when I do I must say I'm pretty happy with how they handled it.

So you received a replacement for the redemption, and now you're getting the redemption as well?

I am not surprised. I know collectors that waited six years for a 2005-06 SP Authentic FW Redemption to be produced.

It's all going to be gravy at this point as I snagged the copy off of eBay and it does happen to be #01/50, but I'm still going to call in and see what happens.
The guy I bought it from said it was a redemption replacement for him, so we'll see.
Other than the one redemption card that I ended up grabbing way back in January 2008, I honestly cannot recall ever seeing another on eBay. It's possible I may have overlooked/missed/forgotten, but when it comes to Gorges stuff I have a propensity to go after multiples if I can grab them for cheap...and in 2008 pretty much everything was cheap.
