    Question does a buy back have the same value as original release

    Basically I have an 00/01 Epic Signatures Messier available ,but it has a sticker on back and cert from being inserted in 04/05 SPA , would it have the same value has an epic sig pulled from original release ? Thanks

    I would think so, sometimes they go for a premium............I need that card :p

    It depends if there has been any type of alteration/modification to it. There's not really a blanket answer to this type of question.

    If the original Messier had a defined print run (whether serial #'d or just known), and the buyback has even further "limited" quantities, that can for sure have a boost. But if it's just a simple sticker slapped on the back, might not be too much more than a 15% boost.

    Part of the problem is that nothing sells for "book" value anymore. Sometimes higher, most times lower. So you can't really compare the "values" eh?

    For every card you find that sells above book value, I can find 100,000 that don't even net 10% of BV.

    Ok but you're trying to compare two things with no actual set values to begin with, other than a price guide which isn't right almost all of the time..........


    A Messier completist would pay for the card. A 04/05 SPA completist would pay for the card. Both of those people would "need" it if they didn't have it already. BUT.......the only way to know if it would go for a premium would be .........to sell it and see................
