It was a day created as a stance against extremist muslims....not all muslims or even the religion in general.
But against EXTREMIST muslims.
The same people who KILLED over 200 people in protests over a Danish cartoon depicting Muhammad.
Why do we do it?
Because we won't let our freedom of speech be silenced by people who believe freedom of speech itself is against their religion.
These signs were some of the many that the Protesters used:

^Like I said....Freedom of Speech is NON-Negotiable.

You're actually tramping on a belief of the entire religion so while this may be an attack on extremists (thank you for admitting it's an attack instead of selling it as a defense) you're hitting all Muslims.

No, I'm not.
Within the religion of Islam, it is not allowed to have depictions of Muhammad.
This rule is only applied if you are MUSLIM...
Guess what?
I'm not Muslim.
The rule does not apply to me...and if they get bothered over a few cartoons...that's just simply too bad.

You realize that, regardless of the religion, "God's Law" applies to everyone as far as any believer is concerned, right?

Oh boy....you just stepped on a land mine.
If that's true, I suggest you get on your knees and start praying to Allah.
I suggest the U.S to immediately switch to Sharia Law and outlaw any and all beliefs which are contrary to the one true religion...Islam.

Wow, you need to brush up on your comprehension skills.
As per their religion it should be offensive to every Muslim whenever anyone draws Mohammed.
You seem to be under the impression that they should only be offended if other Muslims do that.
The reality is you're attacking some by offending all.
In other words, you're being a jerk to be a jerk.

Uh, you seem to forget that their religion regardless how true they believe it is, DOES NOT apply to those that don't believe it.
What you're saying is sadly the exact reason why fundamentalists exist.
People have to respect and observe our laws regardless if they are in our religion or not.
Sorry, but no...that's not the way it works.
This is like if I make a rule that no one is allowed to say my name in vain...why?
Because its a rule, and it offends me if any one says my name in vain.
Uh oh, someone just said my name in vain, but he tells me he doesn't believe in my rule and he calls my rule silly.
So, how do I respond, naturally I kill this particular person.
Why?
To make an example of him...and to place fear on everyone else that they SHOULD obey this rule whether or not they believe.
Wick....you are now arguing in defense of this madman.
Congrats.
