The Founding Liberals
http://www.addictinginfo.org/2013/05...ding-liberals/
Any interesting article overall. It is actually shows how the Democrats have changed over the years. As well as the Once Republican party.

The best part of the article was this:
"Our country needs more men and women of science, mathematics, and history. Not Bible thumpers."
Truer words were never spoken so clearly.
As for the democratic party, I disagree with their style and thus I abandoned their party and became an independent after 2009.
I wish this country had a real liberal party that would actually fight for our principles, that doesn't really exists.

"Our country needs more men and women of science, mathematics, and history. Not Bible thumpers."
really, why can't their be both?
their are just as many close minded scientists, mathematicians, and historians as there are closed minded religious people.
also I would not consider LIncoln a liberal

Lincoln was a Huge Liberal. He went against the popular Rich, White View of Slavery, and embraced the poor downtrodden slaves.
There are Republicans in this country under the age of 30 that would pay dearly to again have Black slaves, because they were raised, indoctrinated, brain-washed into hating anybody that is not white.
Hillbilly poop-heads, uneducated no-minds, are all racist Republicans.
Liberal = Progress Forward, Goodness For All
Republican = Nothing Shall Ever Change from 1776 and Only Whites Shall Succeed.
How can you not see this?

I'm not sure how many "close minded" scientists there are when the whole basis of science is to be open minded in general.
After all, if science were close minded then we would never have the theory of relativity which turned science up until that point on it's head.
And "close minded" mathematicians?
How exactly does that even work?

In all honesty, any political argument that uses the word "poop" gets thrown out my window. That's how.
Have a little pride in presentation people, jeez.

This is such a righteous site, therefore I cannot post what is much more appropriate and slightly more effective than the word poop..
Oh hell, why am I trying to justify anything to somebody as miserable as you. Continue being offended.

I'm not offended, I just don't give anything that resorts to using the word "poop" to insult a generalized group any of my time. If you had even use "excrement" I might have kept going, but no. Your generalized and stereotyping insult (which is childish enough) needed the word "poop".
I have no reason to be miserable. I change and grow every day and I love that. I can't imagine what being stagnant for 10+ years (since you seem to think everyone else is). It must be a sad existence. Don't worry, you don't have my sympathy. We all reap what we sow.
See, that's how you throw an insult out there without reverting to first grade terminology. If an if your point can only be made with an expletive or euphemism, the point may be valid, but the person making it isn't worth listening to.
Tra-la-la *skips away whistling*
