And offense gets you to the show. That's why bigger teams have a better shot come playoffs.

Well:
Kirk Cousins has never lost a NFL game.
Kirk Cousins also doesn't flaunt his religion, having watched him at Michigan State, everyone knew about his religion, but never felt like he went out of his way to promote it.
Kirk Cousins also never received a ridiculous amount of media attention (well, besides Rob Parker making up a story about him getting into a brawl, because that's what Rob Parker does), it's easier to spot (Tebow) flaunting his religion when he's always on my TV.Hidden Content

He lost to the Falcons...
Tebow is like putting a tight end at QB. That is why he gets the attention. He gets more scorning for being Christian than praise. He won a playoff game. He does his celebration that he has always done.
I like both guys, but Tebow has just done more to justify the attention. He didn't do anything last year so we haven't heard about him lately. Then he goes to the Patriots so he gets more attention...

Didn't Tim get the media attention when he won the Heisman and two national championships? Tim doesn't hide that he is a Christian, but I don't think he is over the top in promoting it either.

I disagree. Tim doesn't flaunt it, but he doesn't hide it either. How is Tim's celebration after a score (drop to bended knee) any different that anyone elses? There's the Lambeau Leap......the Icky Shuffle......Terrell Owen's antics........people pointing to the sky to give thanks. Dropping to a knee is his celebration.

Cousins only started 1 game last year, which he won.
Tebow hasn't done anything to justify this type of attention, though. He's a 3rd string QB, who can't play QB, and was bailed out by his defense to help win games. Sorry, I'm not giving credit to a guy who was dreadful almost the entire time he was playing.
Cousins is a backup, and receives the proper attention, almost none.

You put another QB in with the broncos and they don't make the playoffs. Kyle Orton was ready to take em to last place in the west and Tebow inspired the team to win. Which they did, and won 6 straight to make it to 8 - 8. They went to the playoffs and beat the heavily favored Steelers. He can't hardly throw, so it was amazing that they won as many games as they did. That deserves media attention.
He goes to the Jets, a team already surrounded by media. Since he led the Broncos to the playoffs, people assumed he would be playing in NY. He didn't, which deserves attention.
He goes to the Patriots and will probably play TE, the position he should be at.
I agree with you on Cousins. He is a better QB than to be a backup for the skins. Not sure why they drafted two QB's the same year, but then again you never know with Shanahan...

Because RG3 has injury concerns and insurance at QB isn't a bad thing. I think that was a really smart play personally.
I don't know if Kirk can lead a team through an entire season, but he has shown the ability to play in the NFL.
To answer OP:
Tebow has a lot of media attention because he's outspoken about his beliefs , but more importantly he was one of the best college football players of all time, and his commercial with his mom during the superbowl gave him a lot of attention.... Then He got drafted in the first round which shocked pretty much everyone, which caused more attention. Nobody uses a first round draft pick on a player without some sort of plan, especially as QB, so everybody wanted to see what McDaniels had in mind, I mean Orton clearly wasn't cutting it. Now Tebow is back with the man that drafted him, maybe in pre-season we can see some of that plan..On a side not I think the whole "tebowing" thing is lame, he wasn't the first player to ever kneel after a score.
Now if Kirk Cousins was drafted first round by the Jaguars/cardinals/Bills/Jets he would get a lot of attention, not to the Tebow level most likely, but if Skip backed him he'd be all over ESPN. I think even if he talked about his religion, his college resume wouldn't gather much of a Media hype.
Now if Tebow went into the 4th round or later, I don't think the hype would have ever gotten to the levels it has gotten to.
