Taco Bell dropping kids meals, toys

When will parents take responsibilty for their kids poor food choices and stop blaming it on fast food? This is almost as stupid as the NYC soda restrictions.

I have various opinions about this.

#1 I believe that ADULTS have the choice to do whatever they want with their bodies, if that means they want to eat horrible food, so be it.

#2 I believe that PARENTS have the responsibility to offer nutritious and healthy food choices to their kids instead of relying on fast food restaurants to fatten them up, and later can possibly develop obesity.

Having said that, I commend Taco Bell on this decision.

They DON'T have to do it, and I would not be able to offer any real arguments for fast food restaurants that offer toys and "kid's meals".

I think the fact that Taco Bell is dropping this option is ultimately a good idea.

And hopefully PARENTS can make better choices for their kids......because right now, we have an EPIDEMIC in the U.S with obese kids, and the fault lies mostly on the parents.

People look for someone or something else to blame and not themselves. They want hand outs or a way to sue to get money. Thats one of the problems in our society is not holding people accountable for their "own" decisions and actions. We simply sweep it under the rug and move on.

I do agree that the heart of this issue lies with the parents and what they choose to put in front of their children for breakfast/lunch/dinner.

They complain that kids are getting fat off fast food but then turn around and cut recess, physical education and interscholastis sports from schools and wonder why.

or they go with pay to play and people can't afford it.

i have no issue with kids eating fastfood as long as it is not the norm.

when the kids were at home, we never bought fast foo for dinner, but we did eat ou a few times a month at a sit down place.

but I did know a few parents who often supplemented dinner with fast food, not a great idea in my opinion.

I didn't think this had anything to do with nutrition or what is marketed towards kids. I heard that it was more about lack of sales. Taco Bell really isn't linked to fast food and kids toys the way the happy meal is.

I didn't know they even had kids meals and toys...must have been a regional thing too?
