Just wanting to get some opinions

Whats everyones thought bout the new autograph policy that college teams are now going to? I live in Columbus, OH and I attend buckeye games to graph the visiting team. Ive had really good luck in the pass getting autos on mini helmet, 8x10s etc but I have a feeling that teams wont be letting there players sign after games anymore.

Anybody else think this? Also to With this new policies does anyone think it will affect TTMs to college players?

I don't really do that much college ttm but I do think colleges will start to be real strict about ballplayers signing ttm. They may also make their star players personalize when they do those free autograph sigingings at the beginning of the year.

In the past I've never really had much luck getting TTMs through the schools, but I've had pretty good success rates mailing to home addresses

Carolina Basketball players haven't been allowed to sign TTM for a long time and they only sell a team PP.

I think the new NCAA oversight of autographs is pretty much going to stop what little TTMs were being allowed by some colleges. At UM in Miami, they have already informed fans that players will only sign "the school provided posters/pictures" that part of season events. The sad part about all this is that the schools were (and will continue to!) make millions of dollars selling athletes pictures & items. It comes down to the fact that athletes will have to rationalize that their most significant benefit is to get a really good education for life after sports!

I only do college coaches as it is. Most have been via email but compliance departments have grown stricter in recent years.

I've also heard that the NCAA rules have caused schools to ban any player from answering fan mail. I sent out about 30 items to different schools during the 2012-13 year and have not received any back. Most of these were to schools that I have had good success with in the past.

The whole thing is stupid!!!!! The colleges make damn good money off these players and yes I know the argument of "the players get a good education" - schools make way more money off them than what it would cost if each player paid there own way. I really don't see how a school can control someone's signature. So if a player has a car and decides to sell it while there in school is that against the rules ?

It seems strange that we are worried about something as simple as autographs? I love the former Marine that was not allowed to play as a Freshman this year as he played club football in the Marines? Seriously the NCAA is power hungry and needs a reality check! They do some good things like forcing schools to offer scholarships for sports that no one will ever watch under title 7 as ladies should have equal rights to men? Take away championships that we all witnessed schools win after the fact? Sanction schools for coaches actions after the coaches are long gone and the only ones it effects are the kids who would have to lose a year of playing time to transfer? Have situations where they will rule after a season starts on a player being eligible. The school plays the guy and has to give away wins that it made on the field? I love the NCAA! They tell us college sports are about getting an education for student atheles and they pocket millions of dollars. They sign huge TV deals and sell players uniforms to us silly fans to make much more money. Did I mention that the players can not even sell their own jersey or rewards they recieve without the NCAA trying to destroy them. I applaud every alumni who gives a loaded handshake to these kids as for most that is the only compensation they will ever get! Did I mention that many never do graduate from the school offering them this education as compensation. Have we ever seen a school forced to vacate wins due to a low graduation rate. Tell me how they really care about these kids. They recruit more kids than they have scholarships. Come year two and you are low man at your position the school can take away your scholarship and give it to another in coming player? The coach who pledges to your parents that he will take care of you and is under contract for the next six seasons can leave for the NFL and the kid is stuck at the school after the coach leaves? Did I mention that even have cut a deal with the NFL where players can not go into the NFL until their Junior year? Here these kids are old enough to pick up a gun and fight for their country, but not have the right to leave school and get paid to play football? Then again where this rant started let a guy go serve his country and also play a club sport for his branch of service. They respect his service so much that they will tell him to sit a year and take away eligibility for doing so! I swear I am about to stop watching college sports. The kids are great and leave their hearts on the field of play for their schools, but I hate seeing them being taken advantage of! Did I mention I love the NCAA?
