It's funny cuz the bible is just a book which means absolutely nothing in terms of "swearing" to protect anything.

Those things have massive value to the person swearing....the bible is in the end just a badly written piece of fiction.

Here's the thing shrew, swearing on the bible doesn't really make you feel like you're losing out on something, at least I don't believe so.

People, no matter what they say, give more value to themselves and their loved ones than their religion and materialistic objects.

In other words, tell someone to swear on their kids instead of a bible and I believe it means a lot more.

It angers me to see people swear on the bible, and it's not because I'm an atheist, it's because it doesn't mean anything.

I could swear on my most treasured possession on this planet....that is NOT the same as swearing on my own life or another life, THAT has a lot more meaning.
