Some Prizm help

I'm trying to collect all the Lehner parallels in this set, just trying to figure out what this one is:

It says "refractor," but I don't see that listed as a parallel on Beckett.

This is right. For the hobby edition of Prizm the base, insert and rookie parallels are Prizm (this card, NNO), Orange (/50), Gold (/10), and Finite (/1)

Yes Panini prizm is the brand and when the word prizm come back a second time, this mean you will see the three color reflecting under the light. The regular are like a mirror and you will not see green/yellow and red under a light. The Panini prizm prizm, you will see the three color reflecting. Also the silver base tend to come out darker on a scan where the prizm prizm one come out yellowish.

Gee, this Panini Prizm prizm could lead to a whole new type of card. Can you imagine if UD issued a The Cup cup. Now that's one game used card I would not want!

Seriously, I think they use the word refractor because it is something people are familiar with. Why Panini didn't use it? Don't know...Maybe Topps has a trademark on the word "refractor"?

I believe "refractor" has almost certainly been trademarked by Topps for a long time. What I am wondering is why Panini discontinued "Rainbow" as the designation (as it was in the Prizm preview packs included in Rookie Anth). If this is an attempt to bolster the Prizm brand by creating a generic usage of the word "prizm" to describe a shimmering, rainbow-like effect on a chromium card, it is confusing and ultimately self-defeating, IMO.

Come to think of it, wasn't "prismatic" also used by someone in the 90s? Gonna have to do a little research...

They already co-opted the term "prime" to indicate any memorabilia card that is multi-colored or better-than-average. This drives me nuts because when I do an eBay search for Panini Prime hockey (the set) I get hundreds of results from other sets that have "prime" swatches

Agreed - that is extremely annoying! Gone are the days when you might get a cool swatch without it having to be a semi-case hit! (at least from Panini)
