Emery is a total joke, and this is nothing less than a violent bully taking liberties against a non-fighter. Classless. Cowardly. Etc., etc. Emery is a trained fighter, he takes lessons in boxing and MMA, he has NO RIGHT to attack an untrained person who has said they dont want to fight and expect them to defend themselves properly. In my books, this was almost an assault. Good for Holtby for hanging in there and laughing it off afterwards. Had it been me, I would have gone Phil Kessel style on Emery, and I wouldn't have let up either.
Emery is a disgrace as a human being.

So you condone bullying eh? Good to know. Class act. Might is right, folks. If in doubt, just raise your fists to someone else and beat your happiness and sense of meaning out of them. That's how we get 'er done these days.Last edited by ravens_creed; 11-03-2013 at 01:32 PM.

Are you agreeing or laughing at me, I can't tell.
Either way, I don't care. I would. Emery and people like him make the world a worse place.

Laughing at the logic of:
Pummeling someone who doesn't want to fight = disgrace of a human being
Full-on stick swinging and not letting up = something that's not a disgrace?

One actually happened, one is smack talk, that's the difference. For life-long victims of bullying like myself, the (fantastical) thought of doing such a thing helps to ease the frustration of knowing that goons like Ray Emery are still out there doing what they do, but worse, that there are people with the mindset who don't see it as wrong and think you're weak if you aren't willing to put up your fists back. Feel free to continue to try and embarrass and laugh at me in public fashion, though.

Sure, I'll play this game. I'm sorry to hear that you have been a victim of bullying, and in no way do I condone it at all. I will always gladly stand up for someone who is being bullied. And really, I never said anything otherwise. I was mainly saying that two wrongs don't make a right.
And while I've been fortunate to not have been bullied, I have been unfortunate in the sense that I've been attacked by complete strangers twice. One time it was a group of 12 people who attacked me and 3 friends. I did what I could, but there was no way I could possibly stand up to that kind of attack as I'm not a very big guy (5 foot 7, 165 pounds) and I ended up being stabbed three times. Twice in the head and once in the neck, ending up in the hospital getting 62 stitches. So trust me, I know what it's like to be in a situation where you feel completely helpless.
The other time I was jumped, it was just some guy who was out looking for a fight. I got hit from behind, but ended up being able to fight back. I managed to get in a good shot (I am the furthest thing away from a fighter imaginable, so it was pretty lucky) and broke the guy's nose. Knowing that this was the end of the confrontation, I offered to call an ambulance for the guy because it looked pretty bad. Even though he attacked me, I have no reason to get violent and go overboard. Which is what I was getting at when you said that you would swing your stick and not let up.
Again, I'm sorry to hear you've been a victim of bullying. I've seen it happen to others and it's terrible. But not only was I not condoning it, I also had literally no way of knowing anything about any past history of yours. For you to say I am trying to embarrass you and laugh at you in public fashion could not be further from the truth, because I don't even know who you are. Frankly, I don't really like being accused of such a thing.

Hey, I humbly accept that. Clearly I've blown this out of proportion in my poor emotional state today. Sorry everyone, and to cygnus specifically.
I still hate Ray Emery, but my previous experiences having been bullied should not effect me the way they apparently do many years later. I can't even say I've endured anything half as bad as what cygnus wrote about above. That is truly terrible.
