Feeling a tad inadequate after scrolling thru the other ridiculous PC cards in this thread
but here's a few that I've added to my 51-52 Parkhurst set over the last couple months...

and last but certainly not least...

Also added these a couple weeks ago...

Both sheets are in NM-MT+ condition with the exception, natch, of the two Gretzky's on the left. They're split about half way up from the bottom and the one on the left has a weird surface ding almost like something was placed or dropped on it and the second from the left has a very light 1/2" surface wrinkle on the right edge but I got them for a song, so I'm not going to complain as much as I otherwise would.

Wow that Sawchuk is awesome! Congrats on that! You have a lot of high quality rated 51-52's there! Gretzky has to be embarrassed by that perm he is sporting! Great cards!

Thank you very much! I was very happy to land that Sawchuk! I'm trying to complete the set in the Ex to Ex-Mt range, as close to the Ex-Mt end as I can (all PSA graded eventually) so I cringe thinking about not only trying to find a Howe and a Richard in that condition but then being able to acquire them. Oh well, all part of the fun, I guess!
I'm not sure which is worse, that salad on Gretzky's head or that weak upper lip plumage!
Love all the old Parkhurst and Topps that you've posted here and in your bucket, those sets are just fantastic! How long did it take you to put them all together?

Really started collecting a lot in the mid nineties when e-bay started to catch on and had them all done be 2006-07 probably! Been upgrading some here and there but usually work on early 2000-04 sets now! I couldn't get graded Howe or Richard cards without sacrificing other sets so I just left them. Saw a nice Richard on another board that was a PSA and was a $2000. Would be nice to have but as I said no other purchases for some time then! Good luck on completing it!

That's a crazy impressive vintage collection for about 10 years of "serious" collecting! I know exactly what you mean about picking one or the other, there are soooo many other cards I'd love to have but while I do slip up here and there, I've managed to stay fairly focused on the '51 set since I started it... much to my own surprise!
But holy, it's tough some times! Thanks for the good luck wishes too, I may need it!

Very cool photo/card of The Great Gordie! In a vintage hockey card book I have there's an image of a Dryden from that series and it has a Toronto Sun stamp on the back, so the Howe you have is not the Toronto Sun version. The card/photo you have is a "no name" and was used to make the "The Halifax Herald Ltd and Farmers" and the "Les Etoiles de la LNH en Action" sets obtained through the Le Progress L'evangeline, according to this thread on the vintage hockey collectors forum. Hope that helps.
