No that wasn't a gift. That was the President going on a golf excursion and not giving the press the access they wanted so one of them gets his shorts in a bunch and writes a story about it. When you break down the cost you can see that most of the cost went to AIR FORCE ONE and his entourage of security. Can't do nothing about security costs no matter what he does and the plane costs are the plane costs regardless of where he flies.
Keep trying.

You remember this all happened during the sequester when thousands of people were furloughed and not getting paid.
Keep turning a blind eye, but keep that forcus on a governor getting some tshirts, a watch, and a golf bag.

Is this really just turning into a thread about Obama? Anything any president does costs the tax payers money... even if he's no longer in office. I'm willing to discuss things presidents due that cost tax payer money, but those sorts of things are completely different than someone taking bribes or gifts or special deals in turn for potential favors.

seems like that article can be written about any president going on any vacation or any trip on air force one. 94.36% of the million dollar was listed as being spent on air travel for AF1.

I don't get where you say he or anyone else is turning a blind eye. Obviously politicians spend lots of money while they are in office... even as many people go without. I agree that it's a problem, but the president always will have AF1 and that will be a huge expense. Shall we have the president fly commercial? I don't see anyway around huge travel expenses when a president wants or needs to travel. Of that $940,000 I wonder how much would still have been spent had the plane sat at the airport. My guess that it's a huge expense even when it's not flying. For me this article just looks like a stretch to blast Obama rather than actually blasting legislative things that he's done or not done.

Are you saying that this is a Democrat lead conspiracy to falsely defame potential Republican president nominees?
